Over the holiday break, I had TWO goals for myself: sleep and decorate our house. I have been so busy that since we bought our house last year, it has sat empty for 6 months. Our bed was on the floor and we had our couch, and THAT WAS IT!
I started with an inspiration room I found on designlovefest's instagram, I really loved her rug, so I tried to buy the exact same one. Teal is a color that really makes me happy so I decided that teal would my "pop of color." It was important to me that our space reflected our lives so I wanted to showcase my husbands incredible collection of Bass Guitars and I wanted our most prized record player to be right in the middle of our space, since we love to relax and listen to records. I decided to leave the walls white, and will be adding more art to the walls as we find it. I believe that art should truly be collected over a lifetime not bought at IKEA.
For our bedroom: my life is so crazy I truly wanted a serene space that lent itself to calmness and sleep. I was inspired by my friend Sarah Appleby who always decorates in ALL WHITE. I found a West Elm bedframe that I loved and picked everything else in white. I can honestly say, my bedroom feels like a little spa now, and it is very calming!
ps. I hope you like the room tour. My space is very simple, but I like really clean, simple spaces! If you'd like to know where I got anything just tweet me @keltieknight and I'll make sure to tell you! xx
