New Joan Jett limited Edition Tee By Brad Elterman (Starring me!)
I was thrilled when Brad Elterman asked me if I wanted to meet up at the Whiskey and take some late night photos of his new Joan Jett t-shirt. It's so radical and Brad is such an amazing guy, that I was so happy to do this, he even gave me the Tee! Here is a little more about Brad. Do you guys like the tee?
During the summer of 1977, teenage photographer, Brad Elterman took a photograph of Joan Jett backstage at The Whiskey A Go Go for a Japanese magazine. Today the photograph debuts his new t-shirt company, Summer '77. Elterman, who as a teenager was one of The Runaways original photographers, has been posting his vintage photographs on Tumblr for the last two years with over 24,000 followers. "I put all of my photos in a box for 30 thirty years and now they are in vogue once again. My tumblr followers just gobble them up and demand more. It was a special era and young people today are fascinated with that period. I was lucky enough to have been there, survived it and had a camera hanging around my neck. Future designs will have connotations of the 70's and ventures with today's modern bands. Co-founder of the company is photographer and businessman Adam DeAngelis who has worked on the Vans Warped Tour for many years with various charitable foundations. "I believe that our brand and look will break barriers through fashion and photography. The stories that Brad shares are real; they happened. The designs and looks will reflect those stories with his first hand accounts," DeAngelis remarks. The Joan Jett Summer '77 t-shirt is designed by noted graphic designer, Justin Van Hoy and is available at www.summer1977.com.
